Graduation Requirements

Students at Whitefield Academy are required to take courses that meet the state guidelines for pre-college curriculum. These courses are designed for students to take while in high school which will assist them in gaining admission into college and being successful in the completion of college course work. Students must have a total of 26 credits in order to receive a Whitefield Academy Diploma.

English (I-IV) 4 credits
Mathematics (Algebra I, II & Geometry) 3 credits
Science (Phys. Science, Biology & Chemistry) 3 credits
Social Studies (Geography, World Civ, US History & Political Science/Economics) 4 credits
Health 1/2 credit
Physical Education 1/2 credit
Fine Arts 1 credit
Foreign Language 2 credits
Bible 4 credits
Electives 4 credits


Diplomas

Commonwealth Diploma

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Successful completion of at least 26 credits, including all of the minimum requirements for high school graduation required by Whitefield Academy, the state, and the board of eduction.
  2. Successful completion (receiving a grade of C or higher) of at least four (4) Advanced Placement courses:
    1. English (1 course)
    2. Mathematics or Science (1 course)
    3. Foreign Language
    4. ElecUS History
  3. Completion of ALL four (4) AP examinations in the subject areas specified above, without regard to score.

The Commonwealth Diploma is awarded to each student completing the above program requirements and includes special recognition at graduation.

Advanced Diploma

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Successful completion of at least 26 credits, including all of the minimum requirements for high school graduation required by Whitefield Academy, the state, and the board of eduction.
  2. Successful completion (receiving a grade of C or higher) of at least two (2) Advanced Placement courses:
    1. English (1 course)
    2. Mathematics or Science (1 course)
    3. US History
    4. Foreign Language
  3. Completion of two (2) AP examinations in the subject areas specified above, without regard to score.

General Diploma

REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of at least 26 credits, including all of the minimum requirements for high school graduation required by Whitefield Academy, the state, and the board of eduction.
