A Journey of Faith | Bible Curriculum

High School Bible at Whitefield Academy follows a four-year curriculum called Journey of Faith, designed to help students grow in their understanding of Scripture and develop a personal, lasting faith in Jesus Christ.

The program focuses on both the heart and the mind, meeting students wherever they are in their spiritual journey—from those exploring faith to those ready to live out the Great Commission. Along with this, students also attend a weekly chapel.

Freshman Year, we guide students to TRUST in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. First, we seek to prove that Biblical Christianity is the only worldview worthy of our trust. Then, we explore the core message of Christianity: The Gospel of Jesus Christ. As we explore the message of the Gospel, we will look at how the message is communicated through the various genres and authors of the New Testament.

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Sophomore Year, we encourage students to FOLLOW Jesus in their everyday lives. Students will experience God’s Word in the Old Testament by employing various Bible study methods. Students will discover how the Old Testament declares the gospel message and will apply the truths of Christ to their everyday lives, including topics like the spiritual disciplines, relationships, culture, careers, technology, sports, and the arts.

“I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” Galatians 2:20

Junior Year, we challenge students to WORSHIP Jesus with their entire being. The goal of “Theology” is for our students to be rooted in the core doctrines of Scripture. “Ethics” takes those doctrines and shows students how to apply God’s truth to important issues and events in our society today.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2

Senior Year, we equip students to PROCLAIM Jesus in a fallen world. Students are introduced to the major religions and philosophies of the world and are trained to defend the truth of Biblical Christianity. Then, students are trained to apply all they’ve learned to their personal lives and various “real-world” cultural issues, with the end goal of living as witnesses for Christ in all arenas of life

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” Matthew 28:19
