Middle School

A Pivotal Season of Growth

The middle school years are a crucial time for students to grow and discover who God has made them to be. During this season of increasing independence, students begin to ask deeper questions about their purpose and place in the world.

At Whitefield Academy, students are surrounded by a caring community that challenges them to grow spiritually, socially, and academically. Through a Christ-centered environment and intentional guidance, we help students build confidence, strengthen character, and develop a faith that shapes every area of their lives.

Our Middle School program equips students academically, nurtures their spiritual life, and encourages them to discover their God-given gifts. In a Christ-centered environment, students are challenged to grow in wisdom, character, and confidence as they prepare for high school and beyond.

As you navigate middle school with your child, Whitefield is here for you every step of the way, supporting the same things you do at home. Find out why so many families are choosing Whitefield for their child’s education!

Spiritual Formation

Spiritual formation is the foundation of the middle school experience. In addition to daily biblical integration in the classroom, students participate in a weekly chapel program featuring student-led worship, biblical teaching, prayer, and interactive activities.

These moments create space for students to grow in their faith, build meaningful relationships, and experience a community centered around Christ.

Christ-Centered Classrooms

The middle school program at Whitefield Academy is intentionally designed to shape both the hearts and minds of students during these formative years. In alignment with our mission to serve families through a Christ-centered, biblically based education marked by academic excellence and spiritual maturity, every subject is taught through the lens of Scripture.

A Community of Connection

Middle school is also a time when campus life flourishes. Students have many opportunities to build friendships, explore their interests, and become more involved in the school community. Athletics, clubs, worship band, and robotics are just a few of the many avenues where students can connect, collaborate, and discover the gifts God has given them.

Faculty Who Invest In Students

At the heart of our Middle School is a Christlike faculty and staff who model love, patience, and respect for every student. Our teachers are deeply invested in the lives of their students and seek to cultivate an environment where students feel seen, known and loved.

Our teachers craft lessons grounded in the belief that the Bible is God’s authoritative and infallible truth. Students learn to view the world through the grand narrative of Scripture, creation, fall, redemption, and restoration, developing a biblical worldview that equips them to navigate life with confidence in Christ.

Aaron Thompson

7th & 8th Grade Math

I have the privilege of teaching 7th and 8th grade students. I love this level because students take more steps towards thinking deeply. In these grades, they grow in critical thinking and problem solving in ways that are going to benefit them for the rest of their lives. Students become more curious and ask questions with depth as they learn more about the Lord and how to live in the world he created.

I think the most important lesson for middle school students to learn before high school is to problem solve. In my classroom we make it a goal to problem solve by using information we do know to discover what we don’t know. We apply this skill often in my math class, but I am convinced mastering this will benefit students in other classes, in high school, and beyond.

I have seen my students transform into people who intuitively understand what is asked of them. As the year progresses, students understand what they are being tasked with and meet expectations with more and more regularity. These students are truly teachable and it is a joy to see them rise to the occasion.
